Caring for your Michael Presnell Knife:

  • Don't put your knife in the dishwasher

  • Don't leave your knife soaking in a sink full of water

  • Don't store in a wet sheath

  • Don't use your knife is a lever, hammer, shovel, screwdriver, etc.

  • Don't cut on a glass, stone or steel surface

  • Don't use an abrasive pad when cleaning.

  • DO keep your knife sharp

  • DO use your knife for the purpose it was made for

  • DO remember to clean and oil the handle as well as the blade

  • DO clean your knife with a small amount of dish soap and water

Your knife will develop a patina over time.  I consider this patina to be the memory bank of my knife.  This is completely normal for high carbon steel and will help prevent rust.
